About

One word: PASSION.

Welcome to my blog! My life’s journey has led me to seek what is most important in my life. I searched to find who I am as a woman of faith, as a mother, wife, teacher, friend, and as a career driven woman. Just like everyone else, I have had my share of  highs and lows. Once a patient at the Shriners Hospital for Children®, I learned at a very young age to have faith in something bigger than myself. What a friend I have in Jesus!

Finally pain-free, I decided to pursue a Bachelor of Science degree in Dance Education.  While I loved choreography and performance, my passion was teaching movement to heal the body. In college I created a dance program for special needs children. I received the honor of teaching this program at college workshops across the state of North Carolina. Dance became therapy for those I taught….and me.

After the birth of my second child I decided to pursue Pilates to regain core strength. I fell in love! It brought me back to my dance days of moving, building strength, lengthening my muscles and feeling great! I credit Pilates for the pain-free life I now live! I am a fully certified STOTT PILATES® Instructor. You can read more about that on my Pilates page.

In 2011 I founded Core Compassion Project, a 501(c)3 nonprofit, offering post-rehab Pilates scholarships to those battling breast cancer. This has been the most rewarding experience of my career to this point. You can read more about the project at www.corecompassionproject.org. I am blessed to serve as Executive Director. In 2015, I was included in the September/October issue of Pilates Style Magazine feature, “9 Habits Breast Cancer Experts Want You To Know.”

About-Jill-Hinson-Pilates

In 2014 I was featured in a full page ad for TRX in SHAPE magazine. I was also featured in Pilates Style Magazine that year. The 4-page Feature was titled, “Growing A Better Practice” and included Pilates, gardens, and a few of my clients who garden! It was an exciting time for our local Pilates community. This experience taught me that hard work and perseverance WILL open doors.

If I am not at the studio, you will find me in my garden or spending time with my family in my backyard or at the beach! I am a huge fan of essential oils, so I spend much of my time promoting them through living a healthy life of fitness, oils, healthy meals, and spiritual health.

Everyone has a story. Everyone has something to share with others. While I hope to share my Pilates and gardening lifestyle experiences with you, I also hope to challenge you to find some way to use your talents to be compassionate. Mind. Body. Spirit.

Healthy Please XOXO
