One word: PASSION.
Jill Hinson, a fully certified STOTT PILATES® Instructor, is the owner of Core Studio Pilates, and is proud to be a Cancer Exercise Specialist. Jill graduated Cum Laude from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Dance Education. At age eleven Jill was a patient at the Shriners Hospital for Children® in Greenville, SC. Her chronic hip pain experience with unknown diagnosis has driven Jill to work to understand how the body moves and the importance of core strength. In 2012, Jill created Core Compassion Project, a 501(c)3 non-profit offering scholarship funding for Pilates-based, post-rehab for cancer patients. She currently serves as the Executive Director.
Jill’s dance background includes the techniques of Martha Graham and Isadora Duncan. Jill has attended workshops at North Carolina School of The Arts and American Dance Festival. Although Jill loved to perform, she knew early in her dance career that her passion was to bring movement to everyone. Jill was seen in a full page ad for TRX Suspension Training in the 2014 May Issue of SHAPE Magazine, and was featured in Pilates Style Magazine in 2013 and 2014. Jill was interviewed in the September 2015 Issue of Pilates Style Magazine article, “9 Habits Breast Cancer Experts Want You To Know.” She has conditioned nationally and internationally ranked athletes and she has a passion for post-rehabilitative Pilates.
In 2011 Jill founded Core Compassion Project, a 501(c)3 nonprofit, offering post-rehab Pilates scholarships to those battling breast cancer. This has been the most rewarding experience of her career to this point. You can read more about the project at www.corecompassionproject.org.
