Planking is my favorite exercise for building strength in your stabilizing muscles. It can be performed anywhere. This exercise works your abs, back and muscle stabilizers. I include planks in almost every session I teach now, I simply modify planks depending on my client and strength level.

I had a great time participating in a recent photo shoot with Studio C www.shopstudioc.com! It was very exciting for me because I knew the brand before the shoot. In fact, the striped notebook I carry my Pilates notes around in every day is a Studio C notebook. I bought several of them last year for my dance and skating students to maintain their fitness logs and goals. At that time I did not realize they were a Charlotte based company!

I used to be obsessed with scales. I would get on the scale every morning just to make sure I hadn't gained a couple of pounds. This was extremely tough for me after the birth of my children (all three of them!) because it was all about the number to me. I would feel very discouraged when I would get on the scale and I was not anywhere near where I wanted to be. It didn't help that I couldn't fit into any of my jeans.

Happy Monday! I am at the studio after one week trapped at home in the snow. I do not get to be home that often so I have to say it felt great to be with my family. I spent time cooking when I knew the storm was on the way, so my refrigerator was stocked with healthy foods for the week.
